Editing IDS

The Instrument Docking System is the means by which a spacecraft may be easily aligned with the vehicle and port with which it is to be docked. It consists of several components:

* The IDS transmitter associated with the docking port

* The navigational radio in the spacecraft

* The Docking mode of the [[heads up display|HUD]]

* The [[Docking MFD]]

IDS transmissions are short-ranged, typically 10km or so.
