It orbits as a [[w:Trojan (celestial body)|Trojan]] occupying roughly the [[w:Lagrange point|L<sub>5</sub>]], or trailing point 60° behind in the orbit of [[Dione]]. Polydeuces was discovered in 2004 by the [[w:Cassini-Huygens|Cassini]] imaging team on 21 October 2004. Its name is also an alternate name for [[w:Castor and Pollux|Pollux]], twin brother of [[w:Castor and Pollux|Castor]].
