Elara (Jupiter VII) is an irregular prograde and outer moon and of Jupiter. It was discovered on 5 January 1905, the day after the discovery of Himalia, by Charles Dillon Perrine at the Lick Observatory, but it was not named until 1975, then named after Elara one of the lovers of Zeus. Elara in Orbiter[edit]Elara was introduced to Orbiter with the release of jupiter-iii.zip in October 2002.
