1647 Menelaus (1957 MK) is a Jupiter Trojan asteroid of the Greek camp (whose orbits lie in the L4 point 60° ahead of Jupiter. It was discovered by Seth Barnes Nicholson at the Palomar Observatory in June 1957 and was named after Memelaus from Greek mythology.
