Frame rate or frame frequency, is the measurement of how quickly an imaging device produces unique consecutive images called frames. Rates below 25-30 FPS will appear choppy; rates above the vertical sync rate of the monitor (typicaly 85 FPS) are probably redundant. Frame rate can vary depending on how computationly intense the scene.
In Orbiter the frame rate is displayed in the general information display.
