Orbiter's large scale coordinate system is called the Global coordinate system or Global frame. It is a cartesian coordinate system and has its origin in the center of the solar system. It has its three axis vectors oriented like this:
X | The X-axis points to the vernal equinox |
---|---|
Y | This axis points to the solar zenit |
Z | The Z-axis is oriented orthogonal to x and y axis. |
