Ion-4 Launch Vehicle is a launch vehicle for Orbiter 2016 by Max-Q released 6 December 2021.
The two-stage launcher is designed for payloads up to 12000 kg to LEO at low launch costs.
The first stage includes engine gimballing for pitch and yaw control with 4 hydrazine thrusters for roll control. The second stage uses hydrazine thrusters for attitude control in all 3 axes and has limited +Z translation capability.
Features
- Launch autopilot, designed to be activated at T-10 seconds, it is capable of target orbits up to 250 km LEO.
- Custom fairings and payload adapter. It comes with a default 5 m fairing and can be replaced with custom fairings and adapters.
- Countdown autosequence with autoignition, enabled in the scenario.
- Fist stage engine gimballing for pitch and yaw attitude control.
- RS-688 first stage engine.
- Launch pad includes animated Launch Service Tower, flame bucket effects.
- Second stage G-limiter to throttle the main engine to maintain 7G max acceleration.
