A 'dwarf planet is a small body in the Solar system that orbits the Sun, has sufficient mass to make itself round by its own gravity, but insufficient to achieve dominance of its orbital region. The dwarf planet classification was adopted by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 2006, and Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet.
Dwarf planets include Ceres, Eris (dwarf planet), Gonggong, Haumea, Makemake, Orcus, Pluto, Quaoar, and Sedna.
