Arche (Jupiter XLIII, S/2002 J 1) is a retrograde satellite of Jupiter. It was discovered by Scott Sheppard et al at the Mauna Kea Observatories in Hawaii in October 2002. It is named for Arche in Greek mythology.

Arche in Orbiter[edit]

Arche was first introduced into Orbiter with the add-on jupiter_v.zip in August 2003. Note that Arche is provided by jupiter_v.zip and outplanets-050125.zip as S/2002-J 1. To simulate it as Arche, the following changes need to be made.

  • File:S2002_J1.cfg:
    • change the filename to Arche.cfg
    • change the name in the comment line in the top line to Arche (S/2002-J1, Jupiter)
    • line 3, change NAME = to Arche
    • Last line, change the name of Base1 = to Arche
  • File:J1-Station.cfg
    • change the filename to Arche-station.cfg
    • Line 3, change the name to Arche-Station
  • File:Jupiter_S2002J1.scn
    • change the filename to Jupiter-Arche.scn
    • Line 2, change J1 Station to Arche Station
    • Find the GL-01 ship, change STATUS Landed S2002-J1 to Landed Arche
    • Change BASE J1-Station:1 to Arche-Station:1
  • File:S2002-J1.tex, change filename to Arche.tex
  • File:S2002-J1M.BMP, change filename to ArcheM.BMP
