1868 Thersites (1972 RB2, 2008 P-L) is a large Jupiter Trojan asteroid of the Greek camp (whose orbits lie in the L4 point 60° ahead of Jupiter. It was discovered by Cornelis Johannes van Houten at the Palomar Observatory in September 1960 and was named after Thersites from Greek mythology.
