Iapetus is the third largest moon of Saturn, the eleventh largest moon of the Solar System, and is the outermost of the large moons orbiting Saturn. Iapetus was discovered on 25 October 1671 by w:Giovanni Domenico Cassini. Iapetus is tidally locked to Saturn in that the same side is always facing Saturn, and it is unusual in that the leading hemisphere is dark and the trailing hemisphere is light.
Iapetus in Orbiter[edit]
Iapetus was introduced to Orbiter with The Outer Planets-050125 add-on in 2005, compatible with Orbiter 2005, then two updates by the same authors. Later, it was incorporated into Orbiter with the new release in 2006, bringing the moon count of Saturn up to eight.
