Suttungr (Saturn XXIII, S/2000 S 12) is one of the outer prograde irregular moons of Saturn. It was discovered by Brett J Gladman et al in 2000. It is named for a giant in Norse mythology.

Suttungr in Orbiter

Suttungr was first introduced into Orbiter with the add-on saturn_iv.zip in February 2003. Note that Suttungr is provided by the add-on as S/2000-S12. To simulate it as Suttungr, the following changes need to be made.

  • File:S2000_S12.cfg:
    • change the filename to Suttungr.cfg
    • change the name in the comment line in the top line to Suttungr (S/2000-S12, Saturn)
    • line 3, change NAME = to Suttungr
    • Last line, change the name of Base1 = to Suttungr
  • File:S12-Station.cfg
    • change the filename to Suttungr-station.cfg
    • Line 3, change the name to Suttungr-Station
  • File:Saturn_S2000S12.scn
    • change the filename to Saturn_Suttungr.scn
    • Line 2, change S12 Station to Suttungr Station
    • Find the GL-01 ship, change STATUS Landed S2000-S12 to Landed Suttungr
    • Change BASE S12-Station:1 to Suttungr-Station:1
  • File:S2000-S12.tex, change filename to Suttungr.tex
  • File:S2000-S12M.BMP, change filename to SuttungrM.BMP
