Tyoto class assault frigate
The Tyoto class assault frigate is a small warship design in service in the Deneroth Imperial Fleet and was probably introduced in 2169. Because of it's very strong armament and high performance it is currently considered as the most dangerous warship in service of the Imperial Fleet. Its design is surprisingly returning to older principles of Denerothian shipbuilding.
Service history[edit]
High performance of this ship originated various presumptions about stealing tactical data of the USWS Praeon and providing them to Denerothians, to make them able to build a warship, which would constitute a serious danger for the Praeon class. However, these opinions are officially considered as very unprobable.
The incident in Tau Ceti system[edit]
Development of the Tyoto class has been completely unknown to the Coalition until the first combat encounter. The first battle with Tyoto frigates was recorded in july 2169 in Tau Ceti system. A group of Tyoto frigates attacked a convoy protected by a flight of Stingray fighters and two Coalition frigates. The USWS Praeon, coincidentally also present in this system was called for help. Immediately after the battleship's arrival, all of the enemy frigates changed their target. However they were unable to weaken Praeon's shields before they were threatened by the Stingray fighters coming in from hangars of the Praeon and the convoy of Koraami II class freighters. Shortly after, the Tyotos jumped to FTL speeds towards Denerothian territories. The Praeon tried to continue fighting them, but was unable to set the pursuit course before it was too late.
No other encounter was recorded after this incident. However, this type of warship may cause a major crisis in the war with the Deneroth Empire, if it really is built in tens of pieces, as it is expected to be.
Design[edit]
Design of the Tyoto class appears to be returning to the traditional Denerothian "shield" design, typical for early years of the 22nd century. It used to be considered as very uneffective. The Tyoto class fatures an evidence, that it might be still used as design of a modern warship. The bottom and both sides of the hull are protected by a reinforced structure. The ship's hangar appears to be a part of this structure. The engineering and weapon's section are partially placed outside the central hull. Command section remains inspired by Earth warships.
Engines are very powerful for a ship of this size. Tyoto is able to reach FTL speeds comparable to the Hawking class research ship or even the Praeon class battleship. At impulse speeds, this frigate is very maneuverable and has extreme acceleration.

- 4x automatic heavy particle cannon of smaller caliber
- 13x automatic medium particle twin-cannon (not functional in Orbiter)
Shields[edit]
Shields are expected to be powered by the central energy generator in the engineering section, and held together by series of emitters and energetic rails along the entire hull. The main disadvantage of this configuration appears in situation, when the main generator fails, so the hull is not protected from enemy fire anymore.
